Actors auditioning for the Summer Company:

32-ish bars of a song. An accompanist will be provided.
8 x 10 photograph (headshot).
Resume detailing performance experience, education/training, and special skills.
We do accept video auditions. Please email a link to casting@pcpa.org. YouTube on the unlisted setting or Vimeo works best. It is best if we receive your video by February 5.

Students auditioning for the two-year Actor Training Conservatory:

We will begin accepting pre-screen video auditions on October 1. We recommend applicants use the Acceptd platform to submit their audition.

We ask that applicants submit their pre-screen video audition by December 31; however, we will accept videos after that date.

Callbacks for the Acting Conservatory are in March. Applicants who are invited to participate in the callback process will be given the option of a virtual online callback or an in person call back in Santa Maria, CA.

We make offers in April. Any applications received after March 15 will be considered for placement on our alternate list.

Audition Requirements:
2 monologues; (one classical, preferably Shakespeare; one contemporary, i.e. post-1900) totaling together no more than 3 minutes in length (approximately 60-90 seconds each).

16 to 32 bars of a song. Please sing with either recorded or live accompaniment.

Dance is Optional; Dancers should feel free to include a 60 second dance combination; however, dance is not a required part of the video audition.

Total audition time (both monologues plus the song) should not exceed 4 minutes.
We ask that you include with your video:

Applicants for PCPA’s two year Technical Theatre Conservatory are asked to submit:

Resume detailing education/training, theatre experience and/or special skills.

Two letters of recommendation from teachers, employers, or directors. (not family)

Your most recent school transcripts. (These do not need to be official)

Mission Statement: a two-page (minimum), typed “Mission Statement” in which you discuss your educational, professional, and personal goals and why PCPA can benefit you.

Portfolio material is not required; however, during the application process applicants will have the opportunity to upload any material they would like to share with us. Applicants can also share material during the interview process.

Once you submit your application, you will be contacted to set up an interview. You may interview in person or via telephone or video call.

Actors auditioning for the Outreach Actor Internship Program:

One contemporary monologue; 60 to 90 seconds.
