Volunteer as an usher with PCPA

Join us in the room where it happens

PCPA volunteer ushers provide service in many areas of front of house operations, including: Tickets, Doors, Aisles, and Concessions.

Our Volunteers help make the PCPA experience a success by taking tickets, answering patron questions, guiding patrons to their seats, and assisting our House Manager.

This position requires some stair climbing and standing. All ushers are trained to respond appropriately in the event of an emergency. Most usher shifts are 3.5 hours in duration and are scheduled based upon the volunteer’s availability.

“I loved ushering because it gave me an opportunity to be closer to the theatre. At the time I didn’t have the resources to pay to see a show so volunteering literally opened the doors for me to be closer to professional theatre. I’d watch all the plays and all my favourite actor time and time again. It was because of my work as an usher that I was able to solidify my passion for theatre and pursue my career as an actor”

-Stephanie, volunteer for 3 seasons

“We enjoy working with the patrons and we enjoy the performances. Working as ushers we can do both!”
