A Conservatory Rep Production:  Amélie is an extraordinary young woman who lives quietly in the world but loudly in her mind. She covertly improvises small but surprising acts of kindness that bring joy and mayhem. But when a chance at love comes her way, Amélie realizes that to find happiness she’ll have to risk everything and say what’s in her heart. Be inspired by this imaginative dreamer who finds her voice, discovers the power of connection, and sees possibility around every corner.

Music by Daniel Messé
Lyrics by Daniel Messé and Nathan Tysen
Book by Craig Lucas
Based on the motion picture Amélie written by Jean Pierre Jeunet and Guillaume Laurant

AMELIE is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals. www.concordtheatricals.com

About Conservatory Rep

Both Conservatory Rep projects are self-produced by the students. We gave them a director, a space and $200.  They had to do everything else.

Actors must get people to see their work in order to build their career. It is often necessary for a group of artists to get together and produce their own show. This is a way for their work to be seen by agents, casting directors and other industry professionals. We want to empower our graduates to produce their own work, so we have challenged them to do that here in the Conservatory Rep.

They borrowed, built, and created everything you see on the stage. They collaborated with young designers who are all looking to introduce their work to the industry. We want our students to know that they don’t have to wait for someone to give them permission to create.
