This summer community members of all ages have the opportunity to engage with PCPA’s resident company of teaching artists – the very artists whose skills and talents bring PCPA’s extraordinary, award-winning productions to life. Every week we’ll will open a virtual door to the theatre and offer rare glimpses of how the magic happens.

Classes will range from hands-on crafting to lectures series. Instructors and guest speakers will include PCPA’s resident company of directors, actors, and designers, along with recent and legendary alumni.

Registration is free, but you must register to participate. Families may use one registration.

*Some Sessions will require special materials. You will receive a list of needed materials upon registration. *

Lobby Time – We love seeing our patrons in the lobby after performances. You’ll be invited to stay and chat for a few minutes after every virtual event.

PCPA offers a new series of virtual programming for Adults and families that will take place virtually in your home. These exciting ZOOM sessions and classes will offer a rare glimpse into the inner workings at PCPA and introduce community members of all ages to company members whose professional talent brings to life the fantastic productions for which PCPA has become known.

Each 60-minute session will hold a variety of fun and interactive activities, including appearances by special guests from current Resident Artists and our prestigious alumni. Age specified participants can engage in “How To” demonstrations and take a rare interactive “behind the scenes” peek of the PCPA Acting Studios and Production Departments.

Registration is free, but participation is by enrollment only.
Some Sessions will require special materials for full participation in “hands on” demonstrations (please read the “Materials Needed” section carefully).
All Sessions begin last an hour, however, each session will have an additional 15 minutes of “hang time”, so participants can stay a little longer if they’d like and chill or chat with our guests and staff.

The Need to Speak with Andrew Philpot

In a time of heightened emotions and a need for self-expression, spend time with gifted actor and teacher, Andrew Philpot, in an exploration of Shakespeare’s heightened language.
This class will probe the reasons behind the use of heightened rhetoric, and how to use it with intentionality in a scene. Whenever Shakespeare goes from down-to-earth language to poetic flights of fancy, he is telling us something is afoot!

Join George Walker for your personal introduction to swords and swordplay. You’ll see how characters are defined by their fighting style. George will warm us up for the excitement of The Three Musketeers by exploring different swordplay styles for D’Artagnon, Porthos, Athos, and Aramis. En garde!

This hands-on crafting workshop will lead you through the making of crowns inspired by The Three Musketeers’ King Louis XIII and Queen Anne. Patterns and a list of suggested materials will be emailed to you before the class. You decide how simple or extravagant the crown that sits on your royal head should be!
