Disney’s new musical is a polished, peppy, modern fairytale - based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and two hit Disney films.

When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again before mom’s big wedding.

In this hilarious, contemporary update of an American classic, a mother and daughter really see what it is to be a family and experience each other’s lives first-hand, if only for a day.

With a score by the Pulitzer Prize-winning composers of Next to Normal and If/Then and a book by Parenthood’s Bridget Carpenter, Freaky Friday is a delightfully entertaining musical for anyone with a perfectly imperfect family.
    Show Advisory

This modern fairytale is best enjoyed by children 8 years and older.

"…the production is solid, especially if you have young children and you're tired of sitting through comic book movies or watching Disney DVDs. But don't think Freaky Friday is just for kids; the show has enough jolts of real comedic fire to keep everyone entertained."
    -Santa Maria Sun
"This adaptation modernizes the timeline to connect with younger audiences through all aspects of the production…its success is its appeal to both adults and kids. This is a solid production…if you're looking for a unique Christmas present, give the experience of going to see a live show at PCPA."
    -Santa Ynez Valley Star
"After the characters of Ellie and Katherine swapped bodies, it was as if watching two completely different people up on stage. PCPA did an even more outstanding job than usual with Freaky Friday. This play would be enjoyed by any age group and is an especially good family play to see for the holidays, and I think teens and tweens alike would really enjoy this modern fairy tale."
    -Spartan Oracle
